Meet Cooper

And just like that we became a little family of 3!  Introducing Cooper Charles, born at 1:13 pm on June 7th & weighing 8 lbs 5 oz at 23" long.  I don't think my heart could be any more full than it was that day or each one after.

There was only one way to share Cooper's first photo on the blog, after nearly 10 months of pregnancy tracking was there really any other option than a chalkboard?  This was taken just over a week ago, it's amazing I don't have more bags under my eyes after those first few days home from the hospital <3

How far along? 1 Week <3
Total weight gain/loss: +5 lbs (Down 39 at just under 3 weeks postpartum, it's amazing how much that water weight added.)
Maternity clothes? Still wearing a couple things- those leggings are just too comfortable right now.
Stretch marks? Yes
Belly button in or out? Half & Half
Sleep: We're up 3+ times per night.  Hubs & I learned early that being super proactive by setting an alarm to wake ourselves up every 2 1/2-3 hours (before baby has a chance to get worked up) & then waking him to eat/change makes for a much happier little Cooper.
Favorite thing this week: Everything
Movement: It's so strange not feeling kicks in my belly.  That first week I swear I had phantom movement & was convinced someone was still in there.
Pregnancy Symptoms: None!
Happy or moody? :)
Looking forward to: Enjoying every minute of this time with Coop, it's already going so fast!

Maternity Photos

Belated post #2!  Most of this was written before baby was born but it's mind blowing to come back to it now with him sitting in front of me instead of that massive belly.

While I love maternity photos & wanted a few for our own walls we didn't want to do a huge formal session or anything too fancy.  Just a few relaxed pictures of us together before baby is born.  So my brother, an amazing photographer that has also done a couple of our Christmas card photos, snapped these at nearby Hammonasset Beach State Park.  The perfect Spring day filled with sun & lots of congratulations from wonderful people that saw our mini photo session <3

We snapped this photo on the way OUT THE DOOR to the hospital!  It's been a whirlwind ever since that morning & this post is nearly 2 weeks belated but I still had to share the last pregnancy chalkboard <3

How far along? 39 Weeks
Fruit Size: Pumpkin (look how my belly covered some of the words, omg)
Total weight gain/loss: +44 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? Yes
Belly button in or out? Out
Wedding ring on or off? Off
Sleep: Not so wonderful, we've been up timing contractions half the nights this week.  They'll start a few hours after bedtime & subside late morning the next day.
Favorite thing this week: Prep, prep, prep.  After timing contractions for hours & going in to the hospital at 2 am on Memorial Day for a check (& being promptly sent home because I wasn't dilating) we kicked it into high gear with packing hospital bags, cleaning the house & planning puppy care.
Miss anything? Feeling comfortable.
Movement: Less moving than last week, baby seems to be seriously running out of room.
Food Cravings: Bryers French Vanilla Ice Cream
Pregnancy Symptoms: My ankles have rolled over themselves with all this water weight.
Have you started to show? Yes
Gender: Boy
Happy or moody? Excited
Looking forward to: Meeting our sweet little man soon <3
